Why man is superior
MJ Mohammed Iqbal
The importance of knowledge is more stressed by Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the following are some of the sayings of the Prophet:-
v Acquire knowledge; because he who acquires it in the way of the Lord, performs an act of purity; who speaks of it, praises the Lord; who seeks it, adores God; who dispenses instruction in it bestows alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of devotion to God. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden from what is not; it lights the way to heaven; it is our friend in the desert; our society is solitude; our companion when bereft of friends; guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armour against of enemies. With knowledge the servant of God rises to the heights of goodness and to a noble position, associates with sovereigns in this world and attains to the perfection of happiness in the next.
v The ink if the learned is more Holy than the blood of the martyr on the resurrection.
v He who leaves his home in search of knowledge walks in the path of God.
v He who travels in search of Knowledge, to him God shows the way to paradise.
v Knowledge is the stray camel of the faithful: take hold on it whereso-ever you find it.
v The acquisition of knowledge is incumbent upon every Muslim, male and female.
Hazrath Abu Hurairah and others went to the Prophet (PBUH) and said " O Prophet of God, who is the most learned of men? He said : the wise. They asked him: Who is the best worshiper among men? He said: The wise. They asked him: Who is the most excellent of men? He said: The wise. They asked him: Is not he the wise man who is the best in conduct, whose eloquence is well-known, whose hand is full of charity and whose rank is exalted? The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: These are the treasures of the life of the world but the hereafter is for the God-fearing. The wise man is God-fearing though he is abject and despised in the world.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: The wise man is he who believes in God, believes in His Prophet as true and obeys His commandments. According to Scholar Imam Gazzali says "intellect is the name of natural instinct. It is however appeared to knowledge, as a thing is known by its fruit. A learned man is one who fears God, as fear of God is the fruit of learning. Thus the world".
Why man is superior
Great Imam Jamaliya Seyed Khaleel Awn Moulana El Hasaniyul Hashimiy said "Animals have organs just an man has. But man is vastly different from animals in qualities. It(Animal) has brain but has no thinking ability. Man has brain and he thinks and speaks. We call these distinctive features as human attributes. He is therefore called talking animal. But he cannot become human only with the ability to talk. He needs fine thoughts too. He must contemplate - contemplate upon who we are whence we came. If only he meditates about himself in this manner he will well know God, his creator. Almighty sends man to the world. He eats, drinks, sleeps, enjoys, pleasures and lives a happy life. So doing, man forgets to express gratitude to God who created him. He never gives a thought why he needs to thank him. After enjoying all pleasures and on finally getting caught in suffering, he begins to cry unto Him. What is the use? Harvest must be done in harvesting season. Is there any use in harvesting when rice crop has perished? Is there any good? Horror will get him and the end will be confusion and death. The instrument for realizing Almighty is true knowledge. But when there is doubt about knowledge, it becomes an impediment instead and Knowledge is power. To have divine knowledge it is essential for a believer to have determination, pure devotion, complete faith and truthfulness." Imam Khaleel Awn Moulana said: It is by wisdom that the world redeems. Therefore the world exists in a wisdom state of complete, in-divisible Oneness of Almighty. And everyone must come forward to acquire the knowledge of Unity namely ALL IS ONE, in order that the world is saved, creeds become free of differences and peace and tranquillity prevail all over.
SUPERIORITY OF KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM.
Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said "The primary concerns of religion is gnosis of Almighty and this is very essential for the person to try realize his self, with the application of Holy Qur'an & teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Almighty also made it clear that there is no special limit to knowledge and Holy Qur'an says "Say: my Lord!Advance me in knowledge"]
Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told Allah has not given any man more excellence than knowledge and one theologian is more formidable to the divine than a thousand worshippers. The superiority of a believing learned man over a believing worshippers is seventy degrees and wisdom increased the honor of the noble and exalts a servant as high as to raise him to the level of kings.
From the above it is very crystal clear that Qur'an and Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) give more importance for knowledge and intellect and hence, it is very essential for the believers to learn, seek divine knowledge and enrich intellect & wisdom without any self admiration and arrogance to have eternal peace and to become a real human.
